“That’s My Boy”

Jennifer just moved into her new apartment with her 4 month old son. The apartment is modernly decorated with all up to date furnishings and enough space to host a little party if she wants to. The only unusual thing about the place was the antique mirror in the living room which she took it as a free mirror that comes with the apartment.     Three weeks since Jennifer moved into her new apartment and everything was comforting, nice neighbors and quiet environment nothing to worry about. Although she always have an eerie feeling whenever she use the antique mirror. A feeling of being watched or something waiting patiently. But she ignores it every time and took it as stress of being new single parent.     One day as Jennifer sat in front of the mirror admiring and playing with her son while repeatedly saying “ That’s my boy”, her reflection in the mirror begin reaching out of the mirror and before Jennifer could react, her son was snatched away. Her reflection turned into a grey and

The Headhunter

A family of four – two young children and their parents – were traveling on the road through the mountains when their car broke down. The parents went out to look for help and left the radio on for the kids in case they got bored. By nightfall, the parents still hadn’t returned. Sat in the darkness, the children continued to listen to the radio and grew alarmed when they heard that a dangerous killer was on the loose, having escaped from a prison nearby. The newsreader warned listeners to take extreme care when going about their business. Time passed and the children waited. The silence outside the car was absolute until, suddenly, they heard knocking on the car roof above them. The knocks grew louder and faster. Unable to bear it any longer, the children opened the car doors and fled in terror. Only the eldest dared to turn to see the source of their fear. On top of the car was a large man, who was bouncing two objects on the top of the vehicle: the heads of the children’s parents.

The Granny

After moving in to town, granny as she liked to be referred to as, started looking through newspapers and outlet for jobs a woman her age could do. Finally she spot one that’s of her taste and requires less effort. She applied as a nanny to many homes and soon after, she was accepted. The parents work throughout the day so it’s difficult to look after their children. Sweet and friendly, granny was well loved by both the parents and the kids. After those 2 months, granny quite all her jobs as a nanny and made away with the accurate time schedules of the parents she had worked for, and the children she had worked with. Two weeks after-as each parent went to the school get their children, they were told by the school authorities that, the nanny had already picked them up early. Confused and frustrated they reported the incident to the police. The teachers were asked for details of the nanny in question, and each school gave the same description of the formal nanny. Few days later, an elde

The Joy In Mania

Being an introvert in a group of extroverts doesn’t sound fun, but Kojo made the most of it.After several persuasions from his friends, he finally gave in to join them at this year’s Chale Wote Festival, but on the condition that he would return home before 7PM.  The Chale Wote street art festival is a popular annual street festival  in Accra , Ghana.  They went there in the morning, by which time most of the performances had already begun. They started off with the acrobatic performance, then got dazzled by cycling freestyles and tricks, and then made a stop at the various shops and thrift stands to get souvenirs. Most of the items were fascinating, but there was one particular item that seemed odd to him: a worn-out hat with a spoon, a cup, a coin, and other random items dangling from it. One of his friends saw him staring at it, so he immediately bought it for him and asked him to try it on. Kojo felt reluctant at first, but since it was going to be sunny later on, he gave in and
