Marcus, a wealthy businessman, faked his death to see how his family would react. Hidden on a balcony overlooking the chapel, he listened as relatives gathered around his empty coffin. What began as fake tears quickly turned into laughter. His daughter bragged about slipping poison into his drinks. His brother admitted helping cover it up. Even his wife joked that they should have used a stronger dose. They were already arguing over who deserved the largest share of his fortune.
Filled with rage, Marcus quietly left the balcony and returned to his mansion ahead of the family. When they arrived later that evening, he was waiting. One by one, he hunted them through the house, killing every person involved in the plot. Only his son, Daniel, survived. Marcus knocked him unconscious, smeared blood on his clothes, planted the murder weapon beside him, and scattered evidence throughout the house pointing directly to him. Before leaving, Marcus made an anonymous call to the police.
By the time officers arrived, they found a mansion full of bodies and Daniel waking up in the middle of the carnage. The evidence was overwhelming. As police escorted him outside in handcuffs, Daniel screamed that he was innocent, but nobody believed him. Then a black luxury car pulled into the driveway.
The officers stared in disbelief as Marcus stepped out alive. He acted horrified at the sight of the body bags being carried from the house.
"What's going on?"
He frantically asked.
“Why was my family planning my funeral?"
When police explained that his son appeared to have murdered everyone, Marcus looked devastated and shook his head. Daniel desperately tried to tell them the truth, but his father only met his eyes and gave the faintest smile.
Months later, Daniel was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Marcus kept his wealth and everything, walked free, and never told a soul what really happened. Sometimes, when Daniel received visitors in prison, he would swear he could still see that same smile behind the glass.
