Headless Woman Of Mahim

Nobody living in D'Souza Chawl liked walking past the old well after midnight. According to the residents, a woman had fallen into it decades ago and drowned, but the strangest part was that nobody ever recovered her body. One night, a young tenant named Rohan returned home around 2 a.m. when he heard a woman sobbing near the well. He approached cautiously and saw a woman in a bloodstained white sari, standing with her back towards him. Before he could speak, she whispered,

"Have you seen my head?"

Rohan froze. The woman slowly turned around, revealing a horrifying sight: her neck ended in a ragged, bloody stump. Thick black liquid trickled down her sari as she dragged one hand along the stone wall. Rohan stumbled backwards and ran into his apartment, locking every door. But moments later, he heard something rolling across his floor. When he switched on the light, a woman's severed head lay beside his bed, its wet hair covering most of its face. Then its eyes opened.

"You found it,"

The head whispered. The following morning, neighbours found Rohan sitting motionless beside the old well, his clothes soaked in blood. He wouldn't speak, wouldn't eat, and kept staring at the water. When the police pulled him away, they noticed something floating beneath the surface. It was a woman's headless body, wearing the same bloodstained white sari. But as they lifted it out, one officer noticed something that made his blood run cold: the corpse had Rohan's face. Rohan himself had disappeared. To this day, residents claim that two figures can sometimes be seen near the well after midnight. A headless woman and a young man desperately searching for his own head.
