The Underpass


 A man woke up beneath an old underpass with no memory of how he got there. The only thing he remembered was a childhood promise: whenever life became difficult, he and his three best friends would meet there and talk about it. To his surprise, his friends were already waiting for him.

They looked exactly as he remembered them, but something felt wrong. None of them had aged. When he asked why they were still there after all these years, one friend simply replied,


“Because you never came back.”


The man suddenly remembered a terrible car accident and began screaming. He woke briefly in a hospital bed, surrounded by doctors. He had been in a coma for six years. His friends had died in the crash, and he was the only survivor. But when his eyes closed again, he was back beneath the underpass and this time, his friends were standing behind him.

Dog At The Door

I’m not really a dog person but the first time I saw him, he looked so familiar like we’ve met before. Its bright welcoming hazel eyes complement its dark black fur perfectly. But that doesn’t give me the comfort to approach or follow it. It lurks close enough to observe but far away to acknowledge its other features.  Over the years, i begun to notice it got closer. And the closer it gets, the more flashbacks I get. The first flashback was the last moment my mother bathed me. It was weird yet suiting at the same time. Having to recall every detail of that moment felt overwhelming. After that, the flashbacks just keep coming and the need to get closer to the dog and embrace it, grew stronger.
